Abstract

The swift digital revolution propelled by technology progress has significantly impacted several facets of daily life, particularly in the realms of document authentication and validation. In 2021, Perusahaan Umum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (PERURI) shifted the traditional printed stamp to digital stamp. PERURI was conducting communications activities to raise public awareness and help them adapt this innovation. This paper examines public adaptation to e-stamps within the broader context of Indonesia's digital transformation using the perspective of Diffution of Innovation Theory. This research utilizes a qualitative technique within a constructivist framework to examine public adaption to e-stamps, focusing on adoption rates, issues related to poor digital literacy, and society views of security, convenience, and efficacy. Data were gathered via literature research, comprehensive interviews with PERURI personnel, and focus group discussions with a varied array of participants encompassing different age demographics, vocations, and degrees of digital literacy. The collected data organized and analyzed through a process of reduction, coding, and thematic synthesis. And the research result indicates that the e-stamp innovation delivered through PERURI's communication program was accepted by some community groups. Although e-stamps have considerable relative benefits, including improved efficiency, security, and accessibility, their adoption is obstructed by technological difficulties, human reluctance, and restricted possibilities for trialability. Observations reveal that younger, technologically adept groups adjust more swiftly, whereas older generations and individuals with less exposure to digital technology encounter substantial obstacles. The research highlights the necessity of extensive public education, strong technical assistance, and focused socialization initiatives to enhance adoption rates
